KEEP-IT-PUBLIC / MINDEKÖZBEN

Keep-It-Public is the result of a one-year-long research around the question of “How do we connect (in) public space”? It is an ongoing series of physical-experimental interventions that can happen exibly in any space. The point is to in uence the normal rhythm of that space, to intervene in the monotone routine, to take the attention of passers-by with the performers’ presents or activities in order to build temporary, new connections.

Main focus-points are connecting performers and space, audience and space, audience and performers, audience members with each other, to involve the audience without forcing or disturbing.Keep-It-Public also intents to make the difference between “show” in public space and intervention and experiments the boarder of natural performance.

It has a tool, the yarn that plays an important role as a representation of connections through easy games and relations. Part of the project is to investigate the possibilities of the yarn in public space with the same goal in long term: building connections and eventually building a new, playful and active community.
The project continues from spring 2019 on with the long-term focus of growing into a community building project.
